MM-MMFL-5B - Maximum Motorsports Full Length Subframe Connectors Bare Steel - For 79-04 Mustangs
All suspension loads go through the front and rear subframes and into the central unibody structure. The Mustang unibody bends and flexes because the front and rear subframes of the car are connected by the unsupported and flexible center portion of the floor pan. Maximum Motorsports subframe connectors are welded to the bottom of the unibody, connecting the front and rear subframes and supplying more structure than is provided by the floor pan. This increased structure reduces the amount of bending and twisting in the chassis.
The MM full length connectors stiffen your chassis even more than standard connectors because of their added length, method of attachment, and stiffer tubing.
These full length subframe connectors extend from the rear torque boxes all the way up to the firewall. This provides substantially more weld area between the connector and the chassis.
These full length subframe connectors are made of 1-1/4" x 2" x .083" wall thickness rectangular tubing. The thinner wall tubing is used to lessen the weight, while the taller dimension increases stiffness by 30% over our standard connectors. MM added reinforcing plates at each bend to prevent the flexing which would otherwise occur with the thinner wall tubing.
Note: Due to the long length of these Subframe Connectors, they often incur additional shipping fees which are typically about $40 for orders to the Eastern US Coast (coming from CA).
